Introducing PRW's 2025-26 season update to the National Championship-winning 4.8: The "No Freaking Tape" version, known as the 4.8NFT! For years, oval pan car kits have fastened the battery with strapping tape which can cause unwanted chassis tweak, that can be impossible to chase down. While many racers have come up with their own "one-off" tapeless battery fastening systems, PRW set out to become the first manufacturer to offer a fully OEM version. Pair this with many improvements and options discovered by our talented team of drivers, and recent trends in the industry, and you have the birth of the 4.8NFT!

When a chassis garners as much success regionally and nationally as our 4.8 did, it's always a challenge to build upon an already rock-solid platform and make it even better. We feel confident that the 4.8NFT does just that - retains all the best parts of the 4.8 you know and love, and shores up a few areas that were in need of streamlining/improvement. We have always prided ourselves on offering an oval pan car kit for all classes, regardless of tire, body/wing, power plant, track surface or size. Engineered for carpet racing while also keeping the asphalt and brushed racer in mind, PRW has you covered wherever you decide to go racing.

Without further ado, we are thrilled to show you the 4.8NFT, our newest competition 1/10 oval pan car kit offering.

4.8NFT Features: 

- New-and-improved front chassis brace system, lighter/lower and less invasive. Rather than feeding the brace through the upper arm hinge pins, making changes time-consuming and limiting your ability to space the caster blocks in or out, our new design fastens the stiffeners directly to the chassis using the existing holes. In three different options ("short" to cover the center cutout, "medium" to cover the center and right cutouts, or "long" to cover all cutouts), there has never been a lighter or more efficient way to tune your front end chassis flex. This is especially useful in preventing the dreaded “dump-over” effect on the right-front corner, as speeds and grip continue to climb in carpet oval racing. 

- PRW's lightweight and super tough Anti-Twist Servo Mount System, but now with updated carbon servo cages to achieve the proper servo height and turnbuckle angles without shimming upward. We still include all 3 servo cages in the kit: "1" notch for Exalt/MKS/Sanwa-size servos, "2" for Futaba BLS671-size, and "3" for Futaba S9650. Minimal weight, zero tweak upon impacts, and the correct steering geometry regardless of what you choose to install!

- Revised weight placement options with the addition of our "interior weight rail", giving you the ability to add up to 2 ounces of weight to the right of the battery. More now than ever, we are observing racers move weight around to achieve their preferred corner weights. PRW has once again set the bar with the most weight placement and ballast options. We have phased out the brass weight plates in favor of a cleaner and lower-profile setup. With (7) 0.5oz weights included in the lean-and-mean 4.8NFT kit, we are confident you will never come in overweight at the scale. Option 1oz tungsten weights are available separately to fine-tune the car to your ruleset and comply with technical inspection.

- Revised carbon left-side outer weight rail with a lightening hole behind the LF corner of the car, and 5 notches to indicate battery position in conjunction with our new Tapeless Battery Mount System.

- The star of the show, our all-new Tapeless Battery Mount System. Tying in with the internal and outer weight rails, featuring 2.5mm carbon and all-aluminum hardware, this system is the definition of "light, low and left". The battery hook, now left-oriented, conveniently slides on top of and fastens to the outer weight rail. Two standoffs and a slotted carbon hold-down allow the racer to move the battery all the way fore, aft or anywhere between with precision and ease. Simply loosen 4 screws, line up your preferred position with the notched hook and weight rail, and tighten the screws. There has never been an easier to use, lighter weight, purpose-built tapeless battery mount in all of pan car oval racing!

- Cross braces (both standard and reduced offset T-Plate positions) have been revised to accommodate the newest trend in carpet oval racing: cooling fans! The cross braces have been engineered to accommodate both 25 and 30mm cooling fans depending on your preference. As an added benefit, the cross braces are also being cut exclusively out of 3.0mm carbon for less flex and more consistent handling characteristics. Fans/hardware not included in the kit.

- Continuing on the cooling fan theme, we have also revised our top plates (both standard and reduced offset) to accommodate a low-profile and close-up 20mm fan! Especially useful for those that want to run their T-Plate in the standard position but wish to have their battery further back than the cross brace option would allow. Destiny/Roche/Rad-Tec 20mm "Freeze" fans are a direct fit in this setup. Mounting hardware IS included in the kit for this setup for your convenience (fan not included).

- You have seen them in testing before and now they are available to everyone: all three "drop plate" length options! Fasten to your top plate to change the pivot point of the center shock. The short plate is still the stock position/offering, but now we include the medium and long drop plates in the kit as well for those that bench tune with the best of them.

- Carbon chassis plate to accommodate 4.8NFT geometry changes, including but not limited to: internal weight rail, new cross braces, even more center shock mounting options to accommodate different drop plate lengths, different T-Plate options coming down the pipeline from PRW.
